Nice relaxing first ride of the New Year – I think a bit of exercise was just the ticket, after all the holiday overindulging. Quick spin down to Lyall Bay, Woolworths for beer, fush und chups on the beachside and finally a pace-team blast back round the bays. Fantastic way to kick off the Thursday night rides for 2011.

Oh and a crazy cold saltwater swim…

I hope you all made a new years resolution to ride more. See you every Thursday, 7pm at Civic Square for The Fixness, The Radness. 2011 should continue to be another fixed gear year.

I can’t help but feel slightly responsible for his rookie accident. Damn…that traffic Island was invisible last night! I swear it this could have happen to anyone (?!) . Bombing the hills of Welly in winter is no joke.

Stats of the evening: Up Mt Victoria lookout – down Alexander road. Fred. 50t X 16, 2nd ride ever, 1st crash, 1 cracked Helmet, 1 broken arm. Bike -OK
