Hutt Valley High School under scrutiny

Recent News in the media has exposed heavy claims of bullying and misbehaving during school hours and in school grounds. Yeah the school is getting (1700 pupils), when I was there a few years back it was pretty big and me and my friends got in alot of mischief but not disgracing ourselfs our our school like the expelled students have. They have really brought down the name and reputation of the great school and truely its these few people who have mis represented the school to the nation.

Sex and bullying claims at school:

Reports of students as young as 13 having sex in the bushes and students drinking and smoking behind school at lunchtime have also surfaced. via tvnz

Thats hard to believe their actually having sex. hooking up maybe, this could be just a school legend story, my cousin is at this school claims its just a rumour. But seriously what loser kid would bone in the bushes at lunch time. and really there isn’t many places of privacy in this populated school.

Hutt Valley High under govt scrutiny:

ONE News found pictures posted on the Internet which shows students in their school uniforms, swigging beer and bourbon, smoking cigarettes and striking gang poses. [see news clip here]

Cant blame the school when gangster-poser- dropkicks get wasted after school and smoke cigarettes….Surely its the parents responsibility to regulate their own children outside of school. What kind of loser kids parties in school uniform anyway? Former students Darren Austin and Stephen Kells, who admit they are no angels, say it is typical behaviour:

“Smoking pot, drinking, smoking cigarettes, fighting, swearing, and…stuff like that,” says Austin.



Kells was expelled last year but claims he got away with a lot for more than four years:

“Yes I was caught smoking. I was also caught smoking some other stuff too, but yeah I didn’t get into much trouble for it at all,” he says.

The TVNZ journalist covering this story couldn’t have picked any worst losers than Darren Austin and Stephen Kells to interview. Of course your gonna get some negative comments from former students who got kicked out! Had they interviewed your average HVHS student we wouldnt be hating on the school this bad.

And from KiwiBlog “Disgraceful attitude from Hutt Valley High School“:

This is beyond appalling. Imagine if boys had inserted an object into a girl’s vagina - they would be behind bars. And a similar case of school boys inserting an object (a broom stick if I recall) into someone’s behind in the Hawke’s Bay led to jail sentences of two and a half years.

Let us look at the logic of Chapman’s contention that if there is no blood, it is minor.

If I was a parent with children at that school, I would be very very worried about the judgements made to protect pupils. I mean not only did it not get reported to the Police, it didn’t even go to the Board. Heads should roll.

If your going to be angry, be angry at these loser students, I hope they get punished appropriately. Im Sure Mr Chapman did what he saw fit at the time it may have been the right decision. Lets See how he turns things around.
